By choosing to become a Buddy Scheme Lead you will become a vital component in the transition period for new students, whilst gaining employability and transferable skills.
As a Buddy Scheme Lead, you will help a group of approximately 10 new Business School students settle into life at Bournemouth University. You will run weekly meet-ups for the first six weeks of term, promoting events and being a friendly face to your Buddies. If selected, you will receive further information and training from SUBU in order to ensure you complete the role to the best of your ability.

You will be helping new students through what can be a difficult transition to university life. You will make the experience of new students less stressful and decrease their feelings of isolation, homesickness and loneliness.
Training available
SUBU will provide you with online training before you begin the programme. This will include outlining the six weeks of the programme in more detail, making clear what your responsibilities are as a Buddy Scheme Volunteer and providing you with the information you need to correctly signpost your Buddies to any SUBU or BU support services that they might require.
