Join our friendly GreenFingers volunteer groups to enjoy the outdoors and get involved in practical nature conservation in your local park.
Tasks will vary from session to session and include things like park maintenance, planting seeds and trees, litter picking, and tending fruit and vegetables in community gardens. No prior knowledge is required and all tools and equipment is provided, as well as hot drinks and biscuits to keep you going.
The parks nearest to the University include Slades Park, Redhill Park, and Winton Recreation Ground.
• Groups meet from once a month to once a week.
• Some groups meet on weekdays and some on weekends.
• There’s no obligation to attend every session, you are welcome to come along as and when you can.
• No prior knowledge is required.
• Tools and equipment are provided for the sessions, as well as tea, coffee, and biscuits to keep you going.
Benefits to self
