A Team Member helps support and encourage the children that take part in The Story Works structured story writing workshops. There are a number of roles within each session and all those roles require enthusiasm, a love of stories and the willingness to be a team member.
The Story Works is a story writing charity set up by two Bournemouth University members of staff and is based at BU's Talbot Road campus. The remit of the charity is to provide disadvantaged children with the opportunity to tell their stories free of the restrictions imposed upon them by formal education. We do this by running structured workshops where volunteers work with the children to write their stories and at the end of the session the children leave with the book they have written. This work will also be collected and published in an online magazine that will be published every quarter. We are a brand new charity with great plans to expand into schools and work with older children through age appropriate workshops.
