Student Parents
Hello student parents! Thinking of coming to Bournemouth? Already here? This area can help to signpost you to things you may need during your time in Bournemouth and at Bournemouth University.
During the academic year 2014/15 the SU VP Lansdowne started a student parents group which gives BU students and their partners/friends/family an opportunity to meet people in the same position as them in an area that’s safe for their children.
If you would like to be invited to our student parents events please email us (preferably on your BU i7 email address, though that is not essential) with the subject title ‘Student Parents Group’.
If you have any suggestions of bits we may have missed or feel like you need more information please get in contact with us.

A brief explanation about Students’ Unions
The whole point of a Students' Union is to be there, independently from the University, to represent the needs and opinions of the students back to the institution. So in our case the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) works to ensure the Uni is listening to and working in the best interests of its students.
Key Contacts
Balancing your student lifestyle alongside any caring responsibilities can seem daunting but there is plenty of support available to help you make the most out of your university experience.
This welcome guide has been created for student parents and those with caring responsibilities for a dependant, to give you a bit more specific information about what life is like at Bournemouth University.
We hope you find it useful and look forward to meeting you (we have some tailored events planned, it would be great to see you there) and if you have any more questions pop in and see us, we are based in Bournemouth Gateway on the Lansdowne Campus and in the Student Centre on the Talbot Campus!
