As we reach the end of this academic year, staff and members at the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) have reflected on their accomplishments and successes during the recent launch of their own Impact Report.
The event, which was held earlier this month, was attended by over 70 colleague's, partners, and key stakeholders who play a vital role in shaping the future of Bournemouth University (BU), as well the University’s Vice-Chancellor and Leadership team, and the Mayors of Bournemouth and Poole and their consorts. The evening provided a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Students’ Union and how they have helped to make a real positive impact within the BU community.
As part of the event, SUBU’s Full-Time Officers, Omuwa Ayomoto, Chike Dike and Norah Valerie Deka presented key milestones from this year, reflected on challenges and celebrated successes. They shared stories on how the Students’ Union has contributed to life on campus and how they work to shape and deliver positive outcomes at BU.
Spectators heard inspiring stories from students Georgia Blainey, Leon Cambray, and Nicole Chee, who showcased their resilience, determination, and ambition. Each student shared how their experiences through the Student Union have transformed their university experience and impacted their lives.

By fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, the Students’ Union will continue to deliver exceptional education and nurture the leaders of tomorrow.
The newly elected SU President for 2023-24, Chike Dike, said: “We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended the SUBU Impact Report Event. Your presence and support made the evening truly memorable, highlighting your commitment to our university and the student community.
"We’re incredibly proud of the achievements we’ve seen across the year. Everything we do at SUBU is for our students; making sure that they get the very best out their BU experience and feel confident to tackle life after university.”
“With the support of our students, staff and stakeholders, we have the power to shape a future that is inclusive, innovative, and impactful. Let us continue working hand in hand, united by our shared vision of student success here at BU.”
