Exceptional students from Bournemouth University (BU) have been recognised for their outstanding commitment to the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) during an awards evening held this week.
The SUBU Awards ceremony, which took place at Key West on Bournemouth Pier, celebrated students who have made the biggest impact within the Students’ Union and have gone that extra mile to achieve something exceptional alongside their studies.
Thirteen awards were presented on the night, honouring a whole host of achievements including students who have devoted their time to volunteer and help give back to the local community, and those who have conducted exceptional work to ensure that students within minority groups feel empowered.
SUBU’s President, Omuwa Ayomoto, said: “The SUBU Awards is our way of recognising those students who have gone above and beyond to make their Students' Union a dynamic and thriving community.
"At SUBU, we recognise that going to university isn’t just about getting top marks; it’s also about developing skills and experiencing a range of unforgettable opportunities.
“Our students are such a key part of our work here at SUBU. As a student-led organisation, their contributions are instrumental in making sure that all students at BU have the best university experience possible. A huge congratulations goes to all of our finalists and winners.”
