Bournemouth is full of perfect, romantic spots for a date night with your other half but agreeing on where to go can be difficult, so we’ve done the hard work done for you. We have put together 3 choices - a more expensive option, a fun mid price option and a free/ inexpensive option so there is something for everyone. Scroll down to read on!
1. Tapas, tequila and cocktails. (Higher end price option)
This first option is ideal for a special occasion where you have a bit more money to spend, maybe an anniversary or birthday. Start the night at the stunning
Ojo Rojo in their outdoor hacienda (covered and heated in winter) with smoky siracha shrimp tacos and cocktails made with quality mexican tequila. After many plates of different tacos, sides and dips wander down the hill to the square and find the underground bar,
Be at One, for the best cocktails in Bournemouth. With a lively atmosphere and sing along tunes, this bar also serves up the largest cocktail menu around. From your classic Cosmopolitan to a kinder Bueno cocktail, there is something for everyone. On average the cocktails are £10+ unless you go at happy hour 5-7pm, however here you will tend to find an older crowd at their after-work drinks.
2. Golf and Great American burgers (Fun option)
Challenge your partner to a game of mini golf at
Mr Mulligans where you will find a fun neon interior complete with a bar so you can sip on alcoholic slushies while you go round. Their 18 hole course usually costs £9.25 for a student. It’s open until 10pm or 11pm during week nights so there are usually lots of available time slots, but it's good to book earlier in the day or the day before. After you've completed the course you can wander just one minute around the corner to
Sixty Million Postcards, a fun and modern restaurant, to devour a delicious New York style burger and fries.
3. A sunset on Bournemouth beach + snacks (Free/inexpensive option)
Maybe you have both been really busy with university lately but you know a date night is well over due, but you don’t want it to break the bank. For a low-key evening, head to Bournemouth Beach and snuggle up to see the sunset and watch the surfers catch the final waves of the day. If you get hungry,
Harry Ramsdens serves up classic fish and chips right on the sea front, or to be extra cost efficient, bring a picnic made at home. Winter in Bournemouth can bring cold chills by the seaside so rug up extra warm, bring a hot chocolate or walk along the beach to keep warm.
Use these to have a hassle free date with your partner and let us know on our Instagram @nervenow_bu if you do!
