"I can't imagine not doing pantomimes," said Chris Jarvis, the CBeebies presenter who returns to the Poole Lighthouse to star in Sleeping Beauty.
Running until Sunday, January 5th, Chris plays the dame in the pantomime he wrote and directed.
"One of the reasons I like working here is we produce the pantos in-house," Chris told Nerve Online.
"It's different to a lot of others where they literally roll off a van.
"I love doing [pantomimes], they are a part of my Christmas now."
A pantomime veteran of sorts, Chris has been acting in them for 30 years..
Starring alongside him in in the Lighthouse's 2024 production is Todd Carty, of Eastenders and Grange Hill fame.
After seeing him perform Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, Chris invited Todd to be a part of the pantomime.
"We loved him and he loved us," Chris said.
"[Todd] is a brilliant king.
"The audiences love him."
Chris not only stars in the panto, but wrote and directed the production himself.
"Because I write it, I know how its meant to go.
"[Keeping busy] is a good way of working.
"It means I don't stop thinking. If I'm only doing one job I go a bit mad!"
Chris is perhaps best known for being the co-host of the CBeebies series Show Me Show Me.
He presented the tv show alongside Pui Fan Lee from 2009 to 2015.
"When people come up to me, it's all for different things," Chris said.
"They will talk about shows from the '90s, '00s and more recent things.
"It's very good being part of something like CBeebies which is loved."
As well as the Poole Lighthouse panto, Chris is a major part behind the annual CBeebies production, which planning begins for as early as February.
James Smith, a Poole local, helps out on both the Lighthouse and CBeebies pantomimes, lending his skills as a West End lighting designer.
Chris confirmed he would once again be back at the Poole Lighthouse in December 2025, starring in Dick Whittington.
Whilst he couldn't reveal much, he said he would play the Dame again.
"She hasn't got a name yet," he said.
"It'll be something stupid!"
