The Jewson Dorset Premier continues across the county this weekend and here is a look at who is playing who.
It will be a tough test for Bournemouth Sports who welcome an in form Hamworthy United Reserves to Chapel Gate. The Hammers will be looking to carry on their recent good run of form after back-to-back wins over Swanage and Balti Sports. Bournemouth will be looking to build on last weekend's 9-1 thrashing of Corfe Castle - their only win in their last six games.
Sherborne Town Reserves travel to Holt United looking for their first win since the opening day of the season. Sherbourne beat Corfe 5-0 in August but have struggled ever since, losing seven and drawing four. Holt on the other hand have only lost two in their last six but currently sit mid-table having only played eight games.
Third place Merley Cobham host Weymouth based side Balti Sports at Cobham Sports & Social Club. Cobham will be looking to maintain pressure on Sturminster and Hamworthy Recreation above them with a game in hand on both sides as the race for the league title starts to hot up.
Poole Borough will be desperate to forget about last weekend’s heavy defeat at the hands of Dorchester Sports as they host ninth placed Bridport Reserves at Turlin Moor Recreation Ground. Bridport have been pretty inconsitant having won, lost and drawn in their previious three fixtures.
Both Portland and Blandford will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeats to Wareham Rangers and Merley Cobham respectively as they meet at the Camp and Satherley Stadium. Portland had been in fine form before the 4-3 defeat to Wareham and were unbeaten in seven and will hoping they can rediscover that form. Blandford in contrast had lost two on the bounce going into this tie.
5th against 7th as Shaftsbury Town Reserves host Dorchester Sports at Cockrams Stadium. Shaftsbury come in off the back of a 4-0 defeat to league leaders Hamworthy Rec, and Dorchest will be buoyed by their 7-0 mauling of Poole.
Top of the table clash at Barnetts Field as the impressive Hamworthy Rec travel to this seasons surprise package Sturminster Newton United. With five points between the two sides it is an opportunity for The Rec to extend their lead to eight or for Sturminster to close the gap to just two points - a massive game for both sides as we approach halfway in the season.
Tom Birch's, Wareham Rangers will look to carry on from last week’s win over Portland as they welcome high flying Westland Sports. Ranger shave had a torrid time this campaign losing nine of their 11 games but last weekend's victory could be a turning point. Wesland in contrast are sitting 10 points off the top and a good run of form could improve their chances on sneaking in on top spot whilst Wareham will
The Purbeck derby takes place at Days Park as Swanage Town and Herston welcome Corfe Castle with both sides in need of three points after a run of defeats. Corfe sit plum bottom with just a solitary point to their name whilst their rivals from just down the road have shipped nine goals in their last two games.
