Enes Unal scored a dramatic late equaliser against West Ham United under the lights, to move the AFC Bournemouth up to 6th in the Premier League table.
As the clock struck the 90 minute mark, the striker curled a delightful 30-yard free kick into the top left corner, to secure a vital point for Andoni Iraola’s side.
The Hammers had taken the lead from the penalty spot just minutes before, VAR adjudging Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross struck the hand of Tyler Adams, before Lucas Paqueta dispatched the spot kick.
Both sides had struck the woodwork early on, Antoine Semenyo hitting the outside of the post with a volley, before Jarrod Bowen curled onto the top of the bar.
The Cherries dominated the second period, and probably deserved to take all three points, but will settle for a draw considering the manner in which they got it.
Andoni Iraola made one change to the side that completed a late turnaround against Ipswich, game winner Dango Ouattara coming in for the injured Marcus Tavernier.
Julian Lopetegui made two changes to the West Ham side that were victorious against Wolves, with Vladimir Coufal and Paqueta replacing Crysencio Summerville and Emerson.
Coufal had the first chance of the game, as Milos Kerkez slipped to allow the right back through on the right-hand side, but from a tight angle the Czech Republic international blazed over the bar.
The Cherries looked dangerous themselves however, and twelve minutes in Semenyo came within inches of putting Bournemouth into an early lead, his half volley striking the outside of Lukas Fabianski’s right hand post.
Moments later the Hammers hit the woodwork down the other end, Jarrod Bowen running through and curling his effort off the top of the bar.
West Ham started to take control of the contest midway through the first half, with Bowen’s low shot forcing a save out of Kepa Arrizabalaga, before Carlos Soler curled just wide from inside the box.
The Hammers continued to have the better of the chances, with Iraola’s injury struck side some way off their usual standards, and Tomas Soucek almost volleyed West Ham into the lead from the angle.
Just before the break, Bournemouth had a great chance to take the lead when Semenyo’s deflected effort fell to the feet of Ouattara with the goal at his mercy, but the winger was denied superbly by Fabianski’s trailing leg.
The Cherries came out for the second half with new energy, and Ouattara saw his curling strike deflected wide, before both Justin Kluivert and Semenyo had efforts that were easily kept out by Fabianski.
Ryan Christie was the next Bournemouth player to test the reflexes of the Hammers keeper, as his vicious strike from the edge of the area was tipped over.
The Cherries looked like a completely different side in the second period, and the pressure continued as Semenyo had his shot brilliantly blocked at the end of a sweeping move, with an Illia Zabarnyi header flashing wide shortly after.
With twenty minutes to go, Mohammed Kudus looked certain to give West Ham the lead as he went through on goal, but Zabarnyi came from seemingly out of nowhere and denied the winger with a superb sliding challenge.
The chances continued for Bournemouth, as Evanilson had a close-range header from a corner tipped behind, and Kluivert had a long range strike fly just over.
Phillip Billing entered the fray with ten minutes left on the clock, and his first act was to hit a shot that looked destined for the bottom corner, but Soucek was on hand to deflect it away.
The Hammers had spent most of the half penned back by the Cherries, but in the 85th minute Wan Bissaka’s cross brushed the outstretched hand of substitute Adams, and after a long VAR check Chris Kavanagh gave the penalty.
Lucas Paqueta placed the ball down, and sent Kepa the wrong way, sparking jubilant scenes in the away end.
However, the Cherries were not to be denied, and as the clock ticked past the 90-minute mark they were given a free kick 25 yards from goal, and Enes Unal stepped up to bend a stunning strike past the helpless Fabianski.
Bournemouth pushed for a winner in stoppage time, Ouattara striking a powerful effort straight at the keeper late on, but had to settle for a draw.
