Bournemouth Poppies came back from 2-0 down to earn a draw against Fareham at Victoria Park.

Conor Jevan grabbed both goals for the home side in a game that also three missed penalties.

The first half saw missed opportunities for both teams with neither coming too close.

A notable chance for the opposition had Poppies keeper Reece Mitchell save a penalty to his left side; passion emerged in celebration.

Conor Jevon had a few long balls over the top to chase but nothing prevailed.

After a well contested first half, Fareham snatched the lead inside the opening minutes of the second.

A one on one was finished with a smart chip over the keeper, nevertheless Bournemouth kept pushing.

The second for Fareham came shortly after the first, a run from the right had the ball played across the goal and simply finished.

Poppies had work to do but they were given a life line when a foul in the box provided a penalty.

Ultimately, the penalty was saved – the rebound hit the bar and bounced off the line teasingly. Reliable Conor Jevon was on hand to  bundle in the second rebound to ensure there was no doubts of a goal.

There was still time to level things up and the momentum had swung in Bournemouth's favour and the home side looked the better outfit.

Captain Jevon stormed through the defence with great strength and released an effort which was parried - the rebound fell kindly to the Poppies striker as he rounded the keeper and smashed home the equaliser.

It was safe to say there was elation in the crowd.

The comeback was complete, although there was one last chance for Fareham after another penalty was sent wide.

After the game, Poppies manager, Phill Brown, told NERVE SPORT: “The character of the team today was amazing.

"The desire, everything we have been working on for months and months hopefully is starting to click now, and we can start pushing up the league.

"I haven’t felt this way in ages."
