Tuesday saw Poole Town FC beat Portland United 3-0, advancing them to the final of the Dorset Senior Cup. However, Tom Killick believes the performance from his side was “disappointing”.

On how his side performed, Killick expressed: “We lacked quality, and didn’t move the ball around as quickly as we should have”.

However, the Poole Town manager was quick to praise the opposition, especially for the first half. Portland play their football two levels below the home side in the Football league Pyramid.

“I felt Portland contributed to our slow start, they were well organised from the off”.

While some may lose themselves in the thought of a cup final, Killick has a different approach.

“You have to put the final to the back of your mind… there’s still a lot to play for in our league fixtures”.

The Dolphins’ next game is at home against fourth placed Gosport this Saturday at 3:00 PM.

Just four points separate the two sides as Poole sit in 9th, with excitement expected in this top-half clash.
