Parker not worried by lack of clean sheets at Vitality

Cherries boss, Scott Parker, is not concerned about his teams lack of clean sheets at home and believes the teams hard work is what has got them to the brink of breaking the club's undefeated record start to a league campaign.

AFC Bournemouth host Huddersfield this afternoon as the club looks to extend its unbeaten start to the league campaign to 14 games - equalling the club record.

Scott Parker's side have been in brilliant form this season, going thirteen games undefeated in the Championship, and recently set a new club record of six successive clean sheets after the 1-0 win over Stoke in mid-week.

The last time the Cherries conceded an away goal was against Nottingham Forest in August, but at home, the Dorset has struggled to keep clean sheets, with Barnsley the only team to come away from Vitality Stadium without finding the net.

This is not something that is concerning the Cherries boss though, and the head coach believes that small "margins" have been the difference this season and the ethos of the team never waivers whether playing home or away.

"It's not something which is really at the forefront, of course every game we go into I want a clean sheet," he told NERVE SPORT.

"The team goes out there first and foremost to build on a solid structure, and a real defensive structure

"They're margins and the margins are very, very close.

"The other night we had a clean sheet, but we are that close to it going in the goal - because he (Jordan Thompson) has hit the post - and I am sure there have been other games away from home where we are on the right side of the margin, that's just where it is really.

"So it's not something that has jumped out at me, or I see that we need to fix something at home."

Parker also revealed that beating records doesn't spur him on but that breaking records is "brilliant".

He added: "it isn't something I am conscious of, or that I refer back to the team or use in anyway.

"In saying that, of course they're brilliant!

"After the game (against Stoke), it was highlighted to me that it was our sixth clean sheet away from home which is a record - of course all those records you are matching or breaking are brilliant."

The Cherries head coach went on to point out that it is the "processes" and that it is just a reward for the hard work his team has been putting in.

Parker said: "Ultimately, I always refer back to processes, I refer back to what we need to do.

"With the work that we put in, how hard the players work, you are always going to get rewarded in that really.

"I am not being flippant about them (the records), because it is brilliant, but we need to maintain and be consitant in that.

"We need to be consistent in our behavious, in training, in games and I have no doubt we will break records and certainly will be a team that are goinfg in the right direction."
