Gary O’Neil has said that he doesn’t feel comfortable in the relegation battle ahead of Bournemouth’s game against West Ham on Sunday.
The Cherries sit 14th in the table after their win against Tottenham last weekend and could move up to 13th with a win against the Hammers at the Vitality Stadium.
O’Neil said: “I think feeling comfortable at this moment is dangerous so absolutely no comfort taken from the last few victories”.
“This weekend we have another opportunity to take a big step in the right direction so that’s all I’m worried about making sure the boys are ready.”
The Bournemouth manager also confirmed that Hamed Traore is among three players will miss out on Sunday, with Junior Stanislas and Ryan Fredericks also missing the clash due to injury.
However, Matias Vina might make the squad for this weekend, despite going off injured in the second half in the Cherries’ win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which saw the Uruguayan make his first start since signing in January and score his first goal for the club.
“Mati Vina has done a couple of light days’ work after the bang he had on his back at Tottenham, so hopeful that he’ll be able to be involved in the matchday squad.”
The visitors come into the game in 15th and off the back of a 1-1 draw with Arsenal at the weekend and a Europa Conference tie against Gent. West Ham manager David Moyes is under pressure ahead of the game, however Gary O'Neil said he has a lot of respect for the Scotsman.
"When he took over at West Ham they weren't doing very well and he took them to some real highs last season, so he has a lot of respect from me for what he's achieved so far".
