Former West Brom winger Kyle Edwards is currently on trial at the AFC Bournemouth and played 45 minutes in the club’s pre-season game against Chelsea.
The 23-year-old came on at half-time against the European champions and has so far impressed Scott Parker during his time at the club.
Speaking prior to the clash against MK Dons, Parker said: “I think he has done extremely well in the circumstances.
“He had been with us for one day and just did a low level session, he had not worked with us tactically and we brought him on against Chelsea for 45 minutes.
“I mean the boy was up against it in that sense and fair play to him, I thought he did very very well and I have been impressed with Kyle.”
Edwards made 49 appearances whilst at the Baggies – five of which came in the Premier League – and has represented England at youth level after progressing through the academy at the Hawthornes.
The winger was released by West Brom at the end of last season and had been training with Reading before joining up with the Cherries where he is on trial for a couple of weeks.
Parker has yet to make a decision on Edwards but is keen to see more of the player and could yet bring the former West Brom man on board at Vitality Stadium.
He added: “We are weighing it up, he is with us now for another week or so and we will see a bit more of him and make a call on that near that time.”
Not available to play against MK Dons, Edwards will have to continue to impress on the training pitch if he is to earn himself a contract on the South coast.
