AFC Bournemouth are looking for their first ever win against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, as they welcome the league leaders to the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa, in which Andoni Iraola’s side scored a 96th minute equaliser to secure a late point.

Pep Guardiola’s City side are unbeaten in the league so far this season; however, they are coming into this game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Bournemouth are yet to beat Manchester City in the Premier League, having not claimed a point in any of their previous 14 meetings.

However, Iraola has faith in his side to upset the odds on Saturday, he said: “We believe we can beat them.

“We have to be very good, make no mistakes, put them under pressure and take our chances.

“They control their games, they know when to push, when to rest and they have done it consistently for so much time.

"They know what they’re doing, it’s very difficult.

“They have some injuries; they still have an amazing team, and I expect the best City.”

The Cherries could be without Dango Ouattara, after the winger picked up an injury in midweek training.

“He felt something, it’ll be very difficult to say he’ll be involved tomorrow,” Iraola said.

“It’s a big blow for us, especially considering that Sini (Luis Sinisterra) is also out.

“Both are very good wingers, especially in one against one situations, we will try to still be competitive.”

Iraola did hint that the injury to Ouattara and the absence of Sinisterra, could make way for David Brooks to feature heavily in Saturday’s game.

“I think the minutes he has played against Leicester and Aston Villa have been really good,” Iraola said.

“Without Sinisterra and Dango, the most normal thing is that he plays tomorrow.

“I’m fully confident he will give a good level because he is training well.”

A win for Iraola’s side could see the Cherries up to 8th in the Premier League table.

Kick off at the Vitality Stadium is 3pm on Saturday.
