AFC Bournemouth travel to the American Express Stadium on Tuesday evening as they face 9th place Brighton.

The Cherries go into the game off the back of a 1-0 loss to 17th placed Wolves, a game which saw Illia Zabarnyi sent off half an hour into the game.

As for Brighton, they come from a successful trip to Southampton, picking up all three points in a comfortable 4-0 win.

When Brighton visited the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season, it was the Seagulls who came away with a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Jaoa Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma.

Bournemouth boss, Andoni Iraola, said: “For me Brighton are one of the best teams in the league, they have a very good squad and options in every position.

“But we’ve shown this season we can go away against the best teams in the league, play well and get a result and we will try to do that tomorrow.”

One of Brighton’s star players this season has been their leading goalscorer Kaoru Mitoma.

The Japanese international has four goals in his last five games against Bournemouth and will be looking to further that tally.

Iraola said: “Mitoma is an incredible player, I like him a lot.

“When you face these kinds of players, you have to be very good all the time because you know he will be there.”

Bournemouth will continue to be without striker, Evanilson, who is still not expected to return to first team action. Iraola said: “The problem is not with his injury, but he has not trained.

“When you have a bone injury it’s not like other injuries, you have to wait until it heals.”

A win for the Cherries could see them back into the top four, depending on other fixtures from around the league.
