The Chwerries have equalled a 60 tear record with victory over HUddersfield and now sit top of the Championship table six points clear of West Brom
Cherries boss, Scott Parker, was extremely impressed after his side's dominant display against Huddersfield on Saturday with the team keeping yet another clean sheet.
Bournemouth remain six points clear of second place West Brom at the top of the Championship table after what was a convincing 3-0 victory at Vitality Stadium with the Dorset club are also eight points clear of Fulham in third where a gap is starting to appear.
Another victory, which rounded off a tough week for the Cherries after wins away to Bristol City and Stoke City, was down to the yet another stellar defensive performance from Gary Cahill and Lloyd Kelly - although it must be said Huddersfield did not give them too much to think about.
The Cherries strength in midfield shone through on the day as Phillip Billing showed his versatility playing as a number eight but also acting as a second striker, aiding Dominic Solanke and assisting the number nine's second goal.
Speaking after the game, Parker said: “It’s massive for Phil’s development, he’s a special talent in terms of with the ball and at times he is a bit of a maverick.
"I think ultimately when I first came in here one thing I wanted to try and ingrain in him is fundamentally his all round game.
The head coach went on to say when he watches Billing play, he can now see an “all round midfielder” who works tirelessly off the ball and his performance against the Terriers "pleased" him.
The win against Huddersfield took Parker's side to 14 games unbeaten at the start of the leage campaign, equalling a club record that streches back to the 1961/62 season when the club were known as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic.
The head coach said: “Yes, the records are pleasing.”
“Records are brilliant but what you’re seeing in this team is an endeveour and work ethic to get results at this moment in time.”
Although the performance will be seen as one of this sides best to date, Parker by no means recognises it as flawless, stating, “we’re going in the right direction” but that the “second half was a little bit more sticky”.
He added: "It's another win, we keep moving together but there are still areas we need to improve and get better at, but they're records that are pleasing."
This result sets the team up nicely for an away trip to Reading next time out, a team that has shown this season they are more than capable of tangling with the division’s top teams and emerging victorious.
The Cherries will of course be looking to extend their unbeaten run and break that record.
