Learn how to manage your food waste! - Monday 17 March, 12-3pm - Student Village, Talbot Campus

Did you know that 1/3 of all food produced is wasted globally? If your food waste is sent to landfill, it breaks down and produces harmful gases that go straight up into the atmosphere and contribute to climate change. It is far better to separate out your food waste so it can be collected and sent for anaerobic digestion. This means these harmful gases can be captured and used to generate electricity and heat. From March 2025, all BU students living in our Student Village will need to separate out their food waste from the rest of their waste.

Feeling unsure of how to do this? Come and learn from the BU Sustainability Team about what can and cannot go into your food waste bin!
