A huge welcome back from the PHEC Society, and a Happy New Year!

We are excited to be welcoming Josh Barker for our first event of 2025.

Josh is an Advanced Paramedic in Critical Care for Devon Air Ambulance, and is also the co-creator of the well-known pre-hospital podcast 'General BroadCAST'.

He will be discussing a handful of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) cases that he has seen first-hand, and will discuss the recognition, assessment and management of these acutely unwell patients. TBI's are at the more severe end of the spectrum when it comes to head injuries, and as such it is unlikely we will touch on more minor presentations. However, for those with a reduced level of exposure to these patients (or who just want to further their learning), there is a General BroadCAST podcast on 'Adult Head Injury' that might be beneficial to listen to before/after the session. The assessment, management, special considerations, and safe discharge of more minor head injuries is explored in this. https://www.generalbroadcast.org.uk/blog/adult-head-injury?rq=head

Tickets are free and can be booked below. (ROOM TBC)

We will be heading for some drinks afterwards (location TBC), and welcome members of the society to join us for an opportunity to socialise with other members!!
