You're invited to attend SUBU's MP Spotlight - our town hall style event that puts students in front of local MPs to discuss issues, ask questions, and hold them accountable!
As part of UK Parliament Week 2024, SUBU's MP Spotlight is a way for students to engage with local and national politics and forms a larger need for MPs to take student issues in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas seriously. Your Full and Part-Time Officers will be in attendence to share and fight for solutions to the problems they know you face in the community and we would love to see you there too! Whether you'd like to sit in and listen or put your hand up to ask a question, all are welcome.
Should you want to prepare any questions, the themes of the evening are as follows:
- Jobs and employment in the local area
- Crime and violence against women in Bournemouth
- The NHS, mental health, loneliness and health of young people
- Housing and accommodation
- Plus a 'theme-free' open floor
