Hello, I am Esther Chinenye Isaiah, Your SUBU President. I am campaigning to be your president AGAIN!

In the past months, improving student experience has been my priority, and I’ve been driving real change through university collaboration. Together with the SUBU team, I have successfully expanded Community Kitchen to Lansdowne, introduced Cheap Eat Tuesdays, reintroduced the International Buddy Scheme, and organised impactful events including the Stand-Out Series, Black-Fest e.t.c.

Why Re-elect me?

In my term, I have gained an in-depth understanding of student issues and have taken meaningful steps to address them. Although significant progress has been made, some initiatives are still in progress. I am committed to seeing them through.

If re-elected, I would continue to:

1) Ensure that at Talbot and Lansdowne campuses, the ‘community kitchen’ stays afloat and stocked, and we have more inclusive and affordable food, and fun events.

2) Ensure all students (home and International) are aware of and receive adequate support they need. Whether it be around cost-of-living, mental health concerns, or disabilities.

3) Engage the school management to collaborate with reputable firms to expand placements and job opportunities available to students, and work closely with the VP Education to advocate for a flexible timetable that would enable part-time work.

4) Ensure that international students settle-in smoothly and have excellent experience as they anticipated.

I will continue to take lead to ensure all the changes you want are enacted.
