My name is Oluwasijibomi, and I am running for Vice-President of Education at Bournemouth University. As a student of International Commercial Law, a dedicated student representative, and the secretary of Friends of Palestine society, I have firsthand experience of the challenges students face and the improvements needed to enhance our academic journey. I am committed to ensuring that every student receives the best academic experience, with accessible resources, inclusive support, and career-focused learning.

My Vision & Key Priorities

1. Expanding Library Access to Online Resources
Students need better access to academic materials to support their studies. I will work to increase the library’s collection of online journals, and research materials, ensuring 24/7 access to all students.

2. Promoting Inclusive Support for ALS Students and Students in Need
Every student deserves equal access to education. I will advocate for enhancing support services for students with Additional Learning Support (ALS) needs and those facing financial or personal hardships. This includes improved accessibility, increased funding for support services, and tailored academic assistance to ensure that no student is left behind.

3. Bridging Theory and Practice
University should prepare their students for the real world. I will push for more workshops, industry partnerships, and hands-on experiences to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional skills. By that, we can ensure that students are well-prepared for their future careers.

4. Addressing the Need of Lansdowne Campus Students
Most events and programs like the graduate skills programme are only available at the Talbot campus, limiting its accessibility. I will advocate for educational events to be equally available at Lansdowne, ensuring all students receive the same academic support.

With your support, we can be the voice that drives these necessary changes. Let’s build an educational environment that works for everyone!

Vote Oluwasijibomi for VP Education!
