My name is Hillary Chigozie Ofoche, I am running to be your next SUBU President. Leadership is about service, and I have dedicated myself to standing for students, amplifying voices, and driving meaningful change. As a Student Rep, Student Ambassador, and Buddy Lead, I have firsthand experience of the struggles students face; unemployment, accommodation issues, financial burdens, and academic pressure. These challenges demand action, and I am ready to lead with clarity, dedication, and results-driven solutions.
My Commitment to You:
1. Stronger Student Representation – I will strengthen communication between SUBU and students, ensuring that concerns are not just heard but acted upon. Transparency, accountability, and regular updates will define my leadership.
2. Support for International Students – From improving the International Student Hub to advocating for better financial support, I will fight for policies that make studying at BU easier and more accessible.
3. Thriving Clubs & Societies – I will enhance collaboration between SUBU and societies, ensuring they receive faster approvals, better support, and fewer roadblocks to help them thrive.
4. A Vibrant and Inclusive Community – I will champion mental health support, stress relief initiatives, and a more engaging campus experience, working closely with BU ResLife to enhance events for freshers and all students.
5. Community Kitchen & Welfare Initiatives – I will preserve and expand welfare initiatives like the community kitchen, ensuring students always have a space to cook, connect, and belong.
6. Tech & Career Workshops – Exclusive sessions led by industry experts to equip students with in-demand skills, career insights, and direct mentorship, bridging academia with real-world success.
