As Vice President for Welfare and Community, my primary goal will be to enhance the well-being, inclusion, and safety of all students while fostering a supportive and mindful campus environment. Mental health is a key focus, and I will advocate for expanding access to mental health resources, ensuring that every student, regardless of background, can easily access counseling services, peer support programs, and workshops that promote well-being. Mental health is vital not just in times of crisis but as part of maintaining a healthy balance throughout the academic journey.
Recognizing the diverse needs of our community, I aim to create regular social meet-ups and networking events that bring together both local and international students. These gatherings will provide opportunities for students to form meaningful connections, share their experiences, and build a strong support network. By encouraging interaction between different student groups, we can foster a more inclusive and connected campus community.
Campus safety will also be a priority, especially in promoting girls' safety. I plan to collaborate with campus security to implement measures such as enhanced lighting, safe routes, and increased awareness of resources like escort services and emergency contacts. These initiatives will create a safer environment for everyone, ensuring that students feel protected and confident both on and off campus.
Finally, I will promote mindfulness as a core aspect of student well-being. By introducing mindfulness workshops, yoga classes, and meditation sessions, I aim to help students manage stress, improve focus, and cultivate mental clarity. These activities will be accessible and inclusive, encouraging all students to prioritize their mental and emotional health.
Through these initiatives, I will work to build a more connected, safe, and mindful campus where every student feels supported, included, and empowered to thrive academically and personally.
