Ronish Tandel –
Hey everyone! I am excited to be running for Vice President Welfare & Community. I proudly serve as the Student Representative and Buddy lead for the Faculty of Science & Technology. I am also an active member of the BU Sustainability Council and have volunteered for Parks and Foundation initiatives.
These roles have allowed me to engage with students, listen to their concerns, and understand the welfare challenges faced by both home and international students.
My Vision for a Better BU
🏡 Accommodation & Housing
- Work with BU to expand the Guarantor Scheme, making it easier for students to secure housing without financial stress.
- Advocate for affordable, safe, and accessible accommodation for all students.
🧠 Mental Health & Student Support
- Collaborate with university services and external organizations to enhance mental health support for BU students.
- Strengthen student-community relationships by working with FTOs, Community Wardens, PTOs, and Student Ambassadors to gather real feedback and implement solutions.
🍽️ Welfare & Sustainability
- Expand the Community Kitchen to Lansdowne Campus to provide more students with access to free meals and reduce food insecurity.
- Increase awareness of existing welfare packages so students can access the support they need.
- Drive sustainability initiatives to create a greener, more eco-friendly campus.
🌍 A Thriving BU Community
- Promote cross-campus participation in events and activities to foster a more inclusive and diverse student culture.
- Ensure BU becomes the "go-to university" for home students and a "home away from home" for international students.
