Hi I’m HOLLY, your current VP Opportunities and ready2Lead as your next PRESIDENT
8 months into my role, I have already achieved on my manifesto. I have successfully created a coach partnership saving societies up to 30% off bookings, launched the SUBU common room and increased seating in BGB. I’ve led on improving placement support, working with CareersBU. I’ve been involved in the hiring of the new Vice Chancellor ensuring students are represented at the highest level.
I’ve loved working in this role. My experience and knowledge already working within SUBU on a range of issues makes me the best candidate for President.
As PRESIDENT I will LEAD by
L – Lobbying to increase Cost of Living Support. 96% of students are worried about the cost of living. Students’ well-being and academic performance is negatively impacted by financial worries.
- Work with NUS, lobbying for monthly student loan instalments making budgeting easier.
- Start a Community Kitchen at Lansdowne.
- Increase part-time jobs fairs and support for international students.
E- Expand Paid Placement Opportunities, Engage with Local Employers. I will continue working with CareersBU, focusing on utilising University connections to create more industry specific, paid opportunities.
A - Amplify Student Voice. I value transparency and want to improve communication between the University and student body so we can work collectively. I will lobby for regular Q&A forums with the University Exec team so students can hold them to account.
D - Drive new Initiatives + Events on Lansdowne. Campus experience in Lansdowne is 7% lower than Talbot. I will continue to organise more pop-up events including vintage clothing, poster, plant sales. This will better connect both campuses, so all students feel included.
Vote for experience, skills and the track record of delivering. I am ready2lead as your President #Holly4President
