Hello, my name is Raj Chirra, and I am running for Vice-President Student Opportunities role. I am running for this role because I am deeply passionate about enhancing the student experience at Bournemouth University.
I have been part of few clubs at BU where I have learnt how the clubs are run and managed. I was my school’s representative in my year 10 and I have managed a cultural club in my bachelor’s. These experiences will help me to improve the student experience at University as VP student Opportunities if elected.
Promoting SUBU clubs & activities and Empowering Student Engagement & Employability: I believe that active involvement in clubs, societies and other student activities not only enriches student life but also enhances student employability by developing essential skills and experiences. We have wonderful opportunities and facilities at SUBU but not promoted properly, not all students know about the opportunities provided by SUBU until they dig into website or talk with relevant person. If I am elected, I will make sure all students will know what all is offered at SUBU and make certain they take part of it as per their interests.
Advocating for international student Support and Inclusion: International students form an important part of our university community. They will be occupied with learning and adjusting to the new culture and place. It is important for them knowing about all Student Opportunities and facilities provided. I will reduce any barriers stopping them from participating in activities of their interests. I will prioritize amplifying the voices of international students and advocating for their unique needs.
I will work tirelessly to expand, improve and promoting the student opportunities. As the election approaches, I urge you to exercise your vote and make your voice heard. My name is Raj Chirra.
