Hi! My name is Charlie, and I am running to be your VP Student Opportunities! I'm currently a 2nd year Law student and, over the past year, I've been your Trans officer, communications for a 5 star society, and one of your community wardens! I am running because my time at university has been a fulfilling experience for me so far, and I'd like to provide you with more opportunities to ensure your experience is the same!
As your VP Student Opportunities, I would:
Increase community engagement!
I will increase off campus events to connect students more with the community they are a part of. This is important as there should be more opportunities for students to engage with Bournemouth's community. I will achieve this by collaborating with local organisations and collaborating more with AUB.
Continue to develop SUBU presence at Lansdowne!
I will continue present efforts to increase resources on Lansdowne campus. This is important as there are facilities on Talbot campus which are unavailable on Lansdowne, such as the community kitchen, which Lansdowne students may lack access to. I will achieve this by liaising with BU to develop a larger SUBU presence at Lansdowne so we can provide more accessible facilities.
Run multi-society events!
I will run more events that aim to involve all SUBU clubs and societies. This is important as it will bring students together and foster a closer community. I will achieve this by working with the student opportunities team to run events that will engage all clubs and societies.
