Emergency Proceedure

In the event of an incident or emergency, on or off site, during your club or society activity, follow the relevant proceedures detailed below.

In the event of an Emergency

Whether on site at one of our BU campuses or off site, the first thing to do is for your designated first aider to take control of the situation by:

  • Ensuring the immediate safety of other members present
  • Administering first aid where necessary

If your Emergency is on Campus: Contact 01202962222 or 222 from a BU on-site phone. Do not call the Emergency Services directly as the University will coordinate the first responders. Provide them with the following information over the phone: Which Society, nature of the incident i.e. do you require the Police or an Ambulance? Which Campus, Building and Room you are. The more specific you can be the quicker help will arrive.

If your Emergency is off Campus: Contact the Emergency Services on 999 or 111, provide them details on the nature of your emergency and your location, and then inform BU on 01202962222 specifying which Society you are with. Await further instructions from the Emergency Services.
