Scott Parker named Cherries boss ahead of new Championship season

AFC Bournemouth have installed Scott Parker as their new manager following the departure of Jonathan Woodgate with several members of the backroom staff also leaving the club.

Bournemouth fans will be hoping Parker can take the club to the next level and that will start with West Brom, the club’s first league opponents of the new season.

Chief Executive, Neil Blake is of a similar opinion, revealing: “Over a period of time he has proven himself as one of the best young head coaches in the country; someone who has a clear philosophy on how he wants to play and knows what it takes to win promotion from the Championship.

“Scott is fully invested in the long-term project in front of us here, and this is the start of an exciting new period for this club.”

With Parker now at the helm, all the attention will go to getting the team ready for the new campaign and we can expect to see some fresh faces brought in as the new boss looks to make the side his own.
