► About the workshops

To achieve the Leadership Awards you must start at Bronze Level, and once you have attended all the workshops, completed the logs and your volunteering you will receive a certificate and t-shirt and then be able to move on to Silver .


For Bronze there are 6 workshops:

Teams – Basic psychology

Management – What is it?

Leadership – What kind of leader am I?

Communication – The psychology of understanding

Cultural & environmental leadership – Local

SUBU Uncovered (Bronze only)

For Silver there are 5 workshops:
Teams – Building & motivating
Management – Learning to manage
Leadership – Enhancing my skills
Communication – Verbal and non-verbal influence
Cultural & Environmental Leadership – Global

For Gold there are 3 workshops which are delivered in a tailored way to focus on and support your Gold volunteering project, including the following topics:

Team – Facilitating & training
Management – Delivering projects
Leadership – Walking the walk
Cultural & Environmental Leadership – Ethics, influencing & action

The workshops are run by the Student Development Training Team and are designed to be interactive, social and fun in order to help you develop and build on the skills covered. All the Leadership Training workshops are a mix of theory and participation and run for 2 hrs per workshop.
