If I sign up, do I have to attend all the workshops?

No, you can attend as many workshops as you like based on your involvement in SUBU. If you sign up you will be added to a mailing list. There is no pressure to do anything else.

When and where are workshops held?

We are running workshops this year purely based on demand by students. They will usually be on a Wednesday afternoon in the Student Hall on Talbot Campus. However if you are never free on a Wednesday we will talk to you about possible alternatives, just let us know.

How are workshops run?

Workshops are run by the Student Development Training Team and are designed to be interactive, social and fun in order to help you develop and build on the skills covered. All the Leadership Training workshops are a mix of theory and participation and run for 2 hrs per workshop.

How long will it take to gain the awards?

How long it takes you to reach the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards is up to you and will depend on the amount of time you have available. You might complete 1 level within an academic year, or prefer to complete 1 level over 2 or even 3 years.

The Leadership Training workshops and volunteering should be used to compliment your degree and university experience as a whole, in addition to developing important skills - how quickly you achieve the Leadership Awards is your choice.
