So you have an amazing idea for a new club!
That's great now you just need to do the following to get it up and running!
Establish a committee
You need to find 5 like minded Bournemouth University students who will be your committee. They will hold the following positions: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Safety officer and Equipment/Events officer.
Fill in a registration form
One you have your 5 members sorted you will need to complete a registration form. These can be obtained either from the Students' Union Activities Area ( Above Dylans Bar, Talbot Campus) or click here to download a form. You and your commitee members will need to complete this form.
Write a constitution
You will also need to write between you a constitution, explaining what you are planning to offer as a club or society, the issues that govern you, electoral proceedures and a mission statement. If this sounds daunting please pop and see us for reassurance and advice.
Submit your form
This will then need to be submitted to either Debbie Payne or Richard Frame. Then with the help of a sabbatical officer, we check through the form, read the constitution and decide whether the club is satisfactory and that is doesn't conflict with any of the Unions' beliefs and that is doesn't duplicate anything that is any ready in place.
Once your club has been approved you will be free to advertise yourself as a official club and recieve all the benefits that the union can offer you. There will be training sessions to help you establish yourself and provide you with all the extra information that will help you run a successful club or society.
